If it is running consistently for too long hours, the compressor may cause some disturbance. Other than that, there should not be much more issues with your compressor so you might have to change your refrigerator!

Let’s give you some more insight into that.

Compressor Issues Indicate a Sealed System Problem

The first thing that will probably pop up in your mind when you find out that the temperature of your refrigerator compressor is getting high is that your compressor needs to be replaced but, that is not always the issue. Our professionals associated with fridge repairs in Tampa FL pointed out that it might be a case of a sealed system leak or a condenser fan is broken.

If your refrigerator loses the refrigerant, this situation can pop up. And, under this condition, if the leakage is not repaired at the right time, you might have to face this condition of compressor getting warm again. Also, the other symptoms to be sure that this is nothing but a system leakage issue is the condenser coils are still, and your fridge is not cooling enough.

Compressor Needs to be Replaced when it is Burnt Out

The compressor needs to be replaced only if it got too hot and burnt out followed by that. Don’t delay to call up our fridge technicians, if you are dealing with such an issue.

It will contaminate your refrigerator. To begin with, you need to clean up the fridge before the professionals install a new compressor. If it is not dealt with at the earliest, the new compressor will also not last long.

Some Compressor Maintenance Tips

It’s not that difficult to extend the life of your refrigerator compressor. You just need to follow the right rules of cleaning it up. You can use a vacuum cleaner to clean coils and around your refrigerator. Be very careful, while cleaning, you may hurt the seal system of the coils. To prevent this use a soft brush.

Should I Change Compressor or Buy a New Fridge?

You should save your refrigerator and replace compressor. There are a few reasons for this.

1. Money. Yes, you can save money on replacing a compressor in your refrigerator, rather than buying a new one.

The average price of compressor replacement service may vary around 30 % from the price of a new one. Every situation is different and may depend on the price of the parts and difficulty of installation/replacement.

2. Safety. Nobody wants to keep at home new appliances, that may be unsafe and the reason for this is next. Old refrigerators have a refrigerant R134 which is not flammable. At the same time, a lot of new refrigerators that you can buy in Home Depot have refrigerant R600, which is propane. The same propane, that you have in range and oven.

3. Reliability. If you have any issue with compressor or seal system, our professional team can use welding to replace broken compressor or fix the freon leak. New refrigerators with flammable propane inside are not repairable due to safety issues.
